Transforming Loss

If you’ve been through a major loss in the last few years, you may still sometimes feel

  • Numb, like you might be in shock

  • Intensely angry or sad (these emotions can come like tidal waves)

  • OK one day, and not OK the next

  • Confused about what to do next, how to handle things

  • Overwhelmed

  • Like you wish you could force all the sad or painful memories to go away

When we go through a loss, it’s easy to feel lost.  Our lives were working and now they’re not.  We’re in unfamiliar territory, dealing with painful emotions. After your loss, your life is changed—and so are you.

There inevitably comes a moment in each of our lives, after which everything changes, after which we walk on the earth a little bit differently, and we feel our place here with a heightened kind of awareness. Usually this moment is some kind of suffering. It might be a divorce, or the loss of a job, or being diagnosed with a terminal illness, or we loose someone dear to us—a parent or, God forbid, a child. And, after that moment, the way that we are on the earth is changed forever. We cannot live our lives by accident any longer. Because something in that loss, that grief, that heartache, galvanizes our attention. We listen more carefully to everything, we watch more closely for what’s true, we try to sense with every cell of our body the inner balance of things.

For me, that moment was July 30, 1997.  The accident that took my 17-year old son’s life happened shortly after noon.

My son died. And so did my old life.

It was as if the sword of truth had fallen across my life, my identity, severing the false from the pure, the phony from the authentic, the unneeded from the essential.  In the two years that followed, with the support of some trusted friends and mentors, I sorted through my beliefs, habits, relationships, and commitments—and released everything that did not serve truth and love.

After a major loss, we’re called to slow down, regroup, and find resources to do the work in front of us: our grief work.  It’s easier with a guide, a mentor who has been there, someone who is familiar with the power and potential of grief to transform our lives in positive ways.

To those who are grieving a loss, I offer a one-on-one clearing and coaching sessions, in which I listen deeply to the innermost needs of your heart and make do-able recommendations that are designed to get you to the next step in your process, or a 3-month program consisting of the sessions below.

Thriving—not just

Surviving—After A Loss:

a Clearing/Coaching Program

Month I: Releasing the Past, as we Honor your Loss

1. Space Clearing session, to energetically clear your home, resulting in clarity, joy, focus, restoring your access to your inner power.

2.  Honoring your Grief-Needs session, in which we’ll explore ways to move gracefully through the sacred process of grief, so your grief can do its work.  These grief processes include: shock, denial, anger, sadness, hurt, feeling stuck/trapped/helpless, controlling others--and/or feeling out of control.  Each of these processes is sacred work, which when integrated, will result in more compassion, passion and power.

3. Personal Clearing session, to clear your body and energy field.  This will quiet your mind, open your heart, and help you more easily access peace and grace.

4. Releasing Energetic Cords from the Past session, in which you will begin the process of releasing all past hurts and losses, so you can move forward more powerfully, with no anger or sadness dragging you back into past memories.

Month 2: Creating Presence as we Explore Possibilities

5. Mapping Your Grief Journey session, in which we’ll invoke and activate creativity and compassion.  In this session, you’ll connect with the past, present and preferred-future versions of yourself.  You’ll be given the direction you’ll need to create an essence map of your path forward, a path your left brain may not understand but your right brain will intuitively sense.

6. Feng Shui your Home for Transformation session, in which you’ll learn to create an altar that honors your loss, even as your space anchors your intentions for the future.  We’ll work together to create a home that sings with peace, healing, and transformation.... in which every room contains altars that activate and attract your intentions!

7. Understanding your 9 Star Ki (the Feng Shui of your Birthdate) session.  This reading is a map of who you are, what gifts you took birth to bring the world, and what you need from others and from your home in order to live your purpose.  You’ll learn ways to resolve conflicts and create harmony and peace--inside yourself and also with others.

Month 3: Grieving and Thriving as you Create Your New Life

8. Up-Leveling your Loss-Speak session.  Here’s where you’ll get really conscious about how your beliefs and words are creating a story that either supports your happy, empowered future--or doesn’t.  We’ll work together as you re-frame, re-name, and re-claim your loss and create a Loss Story that empowers you to move forward toward the future you prefer!

9. Vision Quest: Your Grief-Journey Destination session, in which we’ll do a meditation that will allow you to access a joyful, empowered future version of yourself who has fully integrated this loss.  In this powerful, blissful state, you will FEEL the YOU you are BECOMING, not in spite of this loss—but because of it.  This is your destination, and this session will allow you to design a life plan that leads to joy, personal power, spiritual growth, and the fulfillment of your intentions.

10. Sacred Ceremony session, in which we’ll do a ritual (which you’ll repeat every month on the new moon) that will anchor and activate your ability to become the fully-integrated and empowered version of yourself!

I know what it feels like to be knocked down by loss—and feel like you don’t want to get up.  It took me years after my son’s death but I did get up.  I found the mentors and teachings that allowed me to integrate my losses--and I know how powerful the painful process of grief work can be, when done well.  I want to help you claim the gifts that are yours in your own grief journey, the POWER, PASSION, JOY, and COMPASSION that arise to fuel your future when you integrate your loss. And I want to make the process easy, graceful, and empowering for you.

It’s unlikely that your grief will be complete in 3 months.  Grief is a process that takes time.   The deeper we loved what we lost, the longer we will grieve—and the more power our well-integrated grief journey will give us.

But I also know this, at the completion of this program, you will emerge with everything you need to release the negative and draining aspects of grief, integrate your losses, and be thriving as you move forward, taking step by step action to create the future you prefer.

If this program feels right to you, please schedule a free half hour session with me. If we both decide this program is a fit, we can discuss payment options and schedule your sessions.  Thank you for considering this investment in yourself.

And, as always, pay attention to what Life is showing you, to what feels good and supportive—and what doesn’t.  Go in the direction of that which is helpful.  Follow the red thread of your desire to integrate this loss in a way that honors you and whatever or whoever you lost.
